How the math works
Move the decimal — that's the whole trick
Every bitcoin is exactly 100,000,000 sats (short for “satoshis,” after bitcoin's creator), so BTC to sats is just the decimal point moving eight places to the right. 0.001 BTC becomes 100,000 sats; 0.5 BTC becomes 50,000,000 sats. No market price involved — this rate is part of bitcoin itself, the way a dollar is always 100 cents.
